Transliteration (IAST)

mantrahṛdayam anavarataṃ smaret ity evaṃ śiṣyaḥ śrutvā praṇamya abhyupagamya guruṃ dhanadāraśarīraparyantayā dakṣiṇayā paritoṣya pūrvadīkṣitāṃś ca dīnānāthādikān tarpayet

— the heart (essence) of the mantra ; — should recall unceasingly ; — having heard, bowed, and assented ; — with a fee extending to wealth, wife, and (his own) body ; — having gratified (the guru) ; — those previously initiated ; — the poor, the helpless, and the rest ; — should satisfy (with gifts)

He should recall the heart of the mantra unceasingly. Thus the disciple, having heard, bowed, and assented, having gratified the guru with a fee extending to wealth, wife, and his own body, should also satisfy those previously initiated, and the poor, the helpless, and the rest.
