1.6

यतः करणवर्गोऽयं विमूढोऽमूढवत्स्वयम् । सहान्तरेण चक्रेण प्रवृत्तिस्थितिसंहृतीः ॥६॥

yataḥ karaṇa-vargo 'yaṃ vimūḍho 'mūḍha-vat svayam | sahāntareṇa cakreṇa pravṛtti-sthiti-saṃhṛtīḥ ||

anuṣṭubh

— since, because ; — the group of sense-instruments ; — this ; — insentient ; — as if sentient ; — of itself, by itself ; — together (with) ; — together with the inner wheel (of antaḥkaraṇa) ; — activities, maintenances, withdrawals

From which this insentient set of sense-instruments, together with the inner wheel, behaves as if sentient — undertaking, sustaining, and withdrawing activities — (that is the Spanda principle).
