स्वलक्षणेन योगित्वाद्व्यवहारस्य सर्वतः । लोके चानुपपत्तेश्च प्रमा च व्यवहारगा ॥८१॥
svalakṣaṇena yogitvādvyavahārasya sarvataḥ | loke cānupapatteśca pramā ca vyavahāragā
— with the unique particular ; — because of (usage's) connection ; — of (linguistic) usage ; — everywhere ; — in the world ; — and ; — because of (its otherwise) untenability ; — and ; — valid cognition ; — also ; — is bound up with usage

(This follows) because usage everywhere is bound to the unique particular, and because (otherwise) it would be untenable in the world; and valid cognition too is bound up with usage (— all of which presupposes the underlying unity).
