किमर्थं गुरुशास्त्रादि चेत्तथा तदवस्थितेः । देवस्य शास्त्राद्बोधेन किं प्रयोजनमेव च ॥७३॥

kimarthaṃ guruśāstrādi cettathā tadavasthiteḥ | devasya śāstrādbodhena kiṃ prayojanameva ca

— for what purpose ; — teacher, scripture, and so on ; — if (you ask) ; — accordingly ; — because of his abiding so ; — of the God ; — from scripture ; — by awakening ; — what ; — purpose ; — also

(Objection:) If (you ask) 'for what purpose then are teacher, scripture, and the rest?' — and also, since the God abides as such (i.e. is the only reality), what purpose is served by his being awakened through scripture?
