अस्माकं तु विशिष्टा ये तान्निबोध द्विजोत्तम ।
नायका मम सैन्यस्य संज्ञार्थं तान् ब्रवीमि ते ॥

asmākaṃ tu viśiṣṭā ye tānnibodha dvijottama |
nāyakā mama sainyasya saṃjñārthaṃ tān bravīmi te ||
1-7 ||
— of ours; — but; — the most distinguished; — who; — learn of them; — O best of the twice-born; — the leaders; — of my army; — for the sake of recognition; — I name them to you
But learn too, O best of the twice-born, of those who are most distinguished among us, the leaders of my army; that you may recognize them, I name them to you.
