2.50

यथा गच्छन्ति सरितोऽवशेनापि सरित्पतिम् । तथार्चादीनि कर्माणि तदुद्देश्यानि पार्वति ॥५०॥

yathā gacchanti sarito'vaśenāpi saritpatim | tathārcādīni karmāṇi taduddeśyāni pārvati ||50||

— as ; — go ; — the rivers ; — even involuntarily ; — to the lord of rivers (the ocean) ; — so ; — the worship-rites and the rest ; — the rites ; — are directed toward him ; — O Pārvatī

As the rivers, even unwillingly, flow to the lord of rivers, so the rites of worship and the rest are all directed toward him, O Pārvatī.
