शब्दविशेषाणां हि क्षोभात्मनां यद् एकम् अक्षोभात्मकं प्राग्भावि सामान्यम् अविशेषात्मकं तत् शब्दतन्मात्रम्

Transliteration (IAST)

śabdaviśeṣāṇāṃ hi kṣobhātmanāṃ yad ekam akṣobhātmakaṃ prāgbhāvi sāmānyam aviśeṣātmakaṃ tat śabdatanmātram

— of the particular sounds ; — which are of the nature of agitation ; — free of agitation ; — prior in existence ; — a universal devoid of particularity ; — the sound-subtle-element (śabda-tanmātra)

For of the particular sounds, which are of the nature of agitation, that one which is free of agitation, prior in existence, a universal devoid of particularity — that is the sound-subtle-element (śabda-tanmātra).
