यत्तु प्रत्युपकारार्थं फलमुद्दिश्य वा पुनः ।
दीयते च परिक्लिष्टं तद्राजसमिति स्मृतम् ॥
१७-२१ ॥
yattu pratyupakārārthaṃ phalamuddiśya vā punaḥ |
dīyate ca parikliṣṭaṃ tadrājasamiti smṛtam ||
17-21 ||
But that which is given for the sake of a return favour, or again with an eye to the fruit, and grudgingly — that is held to be rājasic.
