16.17

एवम् उद्धृतो ऽसौ पूर्णाहुत्यैव अपवृज्यते यदि स्वर्नरकप्रेततिर्यक्षु स्थितः

Transliteration (IAST)

evam uddhṛto 'sau pūrṇāhutyaiva apavṛjyate yadi svarnarakapretatiryakṣu sthitaḥ

— drawn up (raised out) ; — that one (the soul) ; — by the full oblation alone ; — is liberated (released) ; — among heaven, hell, ghosts, or animals ; — situated, abiding

Thus, that soul, once drawn up, is liberated by the full oblation alone, if it was abiding among the heavens, the hells, the ghosts, or the animals.
