सर्वेषामेव मुक्तत्वे स्थिते कस्योपदेश्यता । धर्माधर्मौ नसं बद्धौ शिवस्य न तयोः कृतिः ॥२८॥
sarveṣāmeva muktatve sthite kasyopadeśyatā | dharmādharmau nasaṃ baddhau śivasya na tayoḥ kṛtiḥ
— of all alike ; — if (already) liberated ; — being the case ; — of whom ; — the status of being one to be instructed ; — merit and demerit ; — not ; — connected (with him) ; — of Śiva ; — not ; — of those two ; — the doing

(Objection:) If all alike are (already) liberated, then who is there to be instructed? Merit and demerit are not connected (with Śiva), nor is there any doing of them by Śiva.
