चित्तत्त्वं मायया हित्वा भिन्न एवावभाति यः देहे बुद्धाव् अथ प्राणे कल्पिते नभसीव वा ॥४॥
cittattvaṃ māyayā hitvā bhinna evāvabhāti yaḥ dehe buddhāv atha prāṇe kalpite nabhasīva vā
— the principle of consciousness ; — by māyā ; — having abandoned (its true nature) ; — as merely differentiated ; — appears ; — who (the limited subject) ; — in the body ; — in the intellect ; — or ; — in the vital breath ; — which is (falsely) posited (as the self) ; — or as if in the void ; — or

He who, having abandoned the principle of consciousness through māyā, appears as merely differentiated — (identifying the self) with the body, the intellect, or the vital breath that is falsely posited (as the self), or else as if with the void —
