14.19
प्राणापानमयः प्राणः प्रत्येकं सुप्तजाग्रतोः तच्छेदात्मा समानाख्यः सौषुप्ते विषुवत्स्व् इव ॥१९॥
prāṇāpānamayaḥ prāṇaḥ pratyekaṃ suptajāgratoḥ tacchedātmā samānākhyaḥ sauṣupte viṣuvatsv iva
— consisting of the prāṇa and apāna (breaths) ; — the vital breath ; — respectively ; — in sleep and waking ; — whose nature is the juncture (cessation) of those two ; — called samāna ; — in deep sleep ; — as at the equinoxes

The vital breath consisting of prāṇa and apāna (operates) respectively in waking and sleep; that whose nature is the juncture of those two, called samāna, (operates) in deep sleep, as (the sun) at the equinoxes.
