पत्रं पुष्पं फलं तोयं स्वयमेवाहरेत् पशुः ।
न शूद्रदर्शनं कुर्ययात् मनसा न स्त्रियं स्मरेत् ॥५४॥
patraṃ puṣpaṃ phalaṃ toyaṃ svayamevāharet paśuḥ |
na śūdradarśanaṃ kuryayāt manasā na striyaṃ smaret ||54||

The paśu should himself fetch a leaf, a flower, fruit, and water; he should not look upon a Śūdra, nor even in his mind think of a woman (at the rite).
