kiṃ ca yasya yad yadā rūpaṃ sphuṭaṃ sthiram anubandhi tat jāgrat tasyaiva tadviparyayaḥ svapnaḥ yaḥ layākalasya bhogaḥ sarvāvedanaṃ suṣuptaṃ yo vijñānākalasya bhogaḥ bhogyābhinnīkaraṇaṃ turyaṃ mantrādīnāṃ sa bhogaḥ bhāvānāṃ śivābhedas turyātītaṃ sarvātītam
Moreover: that form which, for someone at some time, is manifest, stable, and continuous — that is waking; its reverse, for that same one, is dream. The experience of the Pralayākala, which is the non-cognition of everything, is deep sleep; the experience of the Vijñānākala, which is the making of the enjoyed object non-different from oneself, is the fourth state; the experience of the Mantras and the rest — the non-difference of all entities from Śiva — is the beyond-the-fourth, the transcending-all.
