8.78

तथा हि बहिस् तावत् त्यागाय वा अनुसन्धिः आदानाय वा द्वयाय वा उभयरहितत्वेन स्वरूपविश्रान्तये वा तत्र क्रमेण पायुः पाणिः पाद उपस्थ इति

Transliteration (IAST)

tathā hi bahis tāvat tyāgāya vā anusandhiḥ ādānāya vā dvayāya vā ubhayarahitatvena svarūpaviśrāntaye vā tatra krameṇa pāyuḥ pāṇiḥ pāda upastha iti

— for the sake of releasing (excretion) ; — the intentional purpose ; — for the sake of grasping ; — for the sake of both (moving toward/away) ; — for resting in one's own nature, devoid of both ; — the anus, the hand, the foot, the generative organ

To explain: outwardly, the intentional purpose is either for releasing, or for grasping, or for both, or, being devoid of both, for resting in one's own nature. To these correspond, in order, the anus, the hand, the foot, and the generative organ.
