6.19

Transliteration (IAST)

tataḥ praviśati prāṇe cidarka ekaikayā kalayā apānacandram āpūrayati yāvat pañcadaśī tuṭiḥ pūrṇimā tadanantaraṃ pakṣasandhiḥ grahaṇaṃ ca iti prāgvat etat tu aihikaphalapradam iti māsodayaḥ

— when the breath enters (inhalation) ; — the sun of consciousness ; — digit by digit ; — the moon of apāna ; — fills, replenishes ; — the fifteenth tuṭi ; — the full-moon day ; — the juncture of fortnights ; — an eclipse ; — bestowing fruit pertaining to this world ; — the arising of the month

Then, when the breath enters, the sun of consciousness fills the moon of apāna digit by digit, until the fifteenth tuṭi is the full-moon day. Immediately after that come the juncture of the fortnights and an eclipse, just as before; but this bestows fruit pertaining to this world. Such is the arising of the month.
