21.7

इति रिक्तस्य जन्तोः अतिरिक्ता वाचोयुक्तिः तासां काञ्चन प्रसिद्धिं प्रमाणीकुर्वता अभ्युपगन्तव्यम् एव आगमप्रामाण्यम् इति स आगम आश्रयणीयो यत्र उत्कृष्टं फलम् इत्य् अलम् अन्येन

Transliteration (IAST)

iti riktasya jantoḥ atiriktā vācoyuktiḥ tāsāṃ kāñcana prasiddhiṃ pramāṇīkurvatā abhyupagantavyam eva āgamaprāmāṇyam iti sa āgama āśrayaṇīyo yatra utkṛṣṭaṃ phalam ity alam anyena

— of an empty (foolish) creature ; — a superfluous turn of speech (mere verbal quibbling) ; — some one of those convictions ; — by one who treats (it) as authoritative ; — the authoritativeness of scripture must indeed be admitted ; — that scripture is to be resorted to ; — in which (is found) the highest fruit ; — enough of anything else

Hence the (denial of conviction) is, for an empty creature, mere superfluous quibbling. By one who treats some one of those convictions as authoritative, the authoritativeness of scripture must indeed be admitted. Therefore that scripture is to be resorted to in which the highest fruit is found — enough of anything else.
