16.8

एतेनाच्छादनीयं व्रजति परवशं सम्मुखीनत्वम् आदौ पश्चाद् आनीयते चेत् सकलम् अथ ततो ऽप्य् अध्वमध्याद् यथेष्टम्

Transliteration (IAST)

etenācchādanīyaṃ vrajati paravaśaṃ sammukhīnatvam ādau paścād ānīyate cet sakalam atha tato 'py adhvamadhyād yatheṣṭam

— by this (rite) ; — that which is to be veiled ; — comes (is brought) ; — under another's control ; — into a state of being turned-toward (facing the operator) ; — at first ; — afterward ; — is brought ; — entire (the whole soul) ; — from the midst of the path ; — as desired

By this rite, what is to be veiled comes under control, turned to face (the operator). First (it faces him); afterward, if the whole soul is to be brought in, then from the midst of the path it is brought in as desired.
