15.1

यदा पुनर् आसन्नमरणस्य स्वयं वा बन्धुमुखेन शक्तिपात उपजायते तदा अस्मै सद्यः समुत्क्रमणदीक्षां कुर्यात्

Transliteration (IAST)

yadā punar āsannamaraṇasya svayaṃ vā bandhumukhena śaktipāta upajāyate tadā asmai sadyaḥ samutkramaṇadīkṣāṃ kuryāt

— when, moreover ; — of one whose death is near ; — either of himself or through a relative ; — the descent of power (grace) ; — arises ; — then for him ; — at once (immediately) ; — the initiation of departure (which conveys the soul out at death) ; — should perform

When, moreover, the descent of grace arises in one whose death is near — whether of his own accord or through a relative — then he should at once perform for him the initiation of departure.
