सिन्धुशब्दादिवच्छब्दो न पश्यन्त्यादितो भवेत् ॥३६॥
sindhuśabdādivacchabdo na paśyantyādito bhavet
— like the word 'sindhu' (which means both river and ocean) and the like ; — the Word ; — not ; — from Paśyantī (as origin) and the rest ; — could arise

(If the Word were equivocal,) like the term 'sindhu' (meaning both river and ocean) and the like — (then) the (determinate) Word could not arise from Paśyantī as its source (without further difficulty).
