अथानुभवविध्वंसे स्मृतिस् तदनुरोधिनी कथं भवेन् न नित्यः स्याद् आत्मा यद्य् अनुभावकः ॥३॥

athānubhavavidhvaṃse smṛtis tadanurodhinī kathaṃ bhaven na nityaḥ syād ātmā yady anubhāvakaḥ

— now, if (it be objected) ; — when the (original) experience has perished ; — memory, recollection ; — conforming to that (experience) ; — how? ; — could arise ; — not ; — permanent ; — would be ; — the Self ; — if ; — the experiencer

(Objection:) Now, when the original experience has perished, how could a memory conforming to it arise, unless the experiencing Self were permanent?
