Transliteration (IAST)
tatra māyātaḥ kalā jātā yā suptasthānīyam aṇuṃ kiñcitkartṛtvena yunakti sā ca ucchūnateva saṃsārabījasya māyāṇvor ubhayoḥ saṃyogāt utpannāpi māyāṃ vikaroti na avikāryam aṇum iti māyākāryatvam asyāḥ
There, from Māyā arises kalā, which yokes the soul — as good as asleep — to a limited capacity to act. And it is, as it were, a swelling-up of the seed of transmigration. Although it arises from the conjunction of both Māyā and the soul, it modifies (only) Māyā, not the soul, which is unmodifiable. Hence its status as an effect of Māyā.
