न हि स रसो मुख्यः तत्कार्यव्याधिशमनाद्यदृष्टेः

Transliteration (IAST)

na hi sa raso mukhyaḥ tatkāryavyādhiśamanādyadṛṣṭeḥ

— the taste (the reflected flavor) ; — primary, real (in the proper sense) ; — its proper effects, such as the curing of disease ; — because it is not observed

For that taste is not the real one, since its proper effects, such as the curing of disease, are not observed.
