— the seedless (initiation) accompanied by visible confirmation ; — to a dull person and to one upon whom the descent of grace has come ; — he would show (grant) ; — at the time of bestowing the "Śiva-hand" ; — a triangular fire-maṇḍala ; — terrible with flames ; — with sparks of the syllable ra ; — visualized with an outer whirling wheel of wind ; — having visualized in the right hand ; — having cast some seed-syllable ; — with a succession of phaṭ-sounds enkindled by the syllable ra above and below ; — he should burn up his power of generation (rebirth) ; — he should cast that hand upon the head of the disciple ; — for both alike ; — destroying the capacity to produce its own effect (rebirth) ; — since even immobile beings are declared fit for initiation ; — established within the city of wind ; — being violently shaken and become light ; — should visualize ; — so that he is seen to be light upon the scale

But if he would grant the seedless initiation accompanied by visible confirmation to a dull person or to one upon whom the descent of grace has come, then, at the time of bestowing the "Śiva-hand," this is the procedure: having visualized in his right hand a triangular fire-maṇḍala, terrible with flames, sparkling with the syllable ra, with an outer whirling wheel of wind, and having cast into that very hand some seed-syllable, he should burn up the man's power of generation with a succession of phaṭ-sounds enkindled by the syllable ra above and below. Doing so, he should cast that hand upon the head of the disciple. Thus for both alike this seedless initiation comes to destroy the capacity to produce its own effect — since even immobile beings are declared fit for initiation; and he should visualize the disciple, established within the city of wind and violently shaken, as become so light that he would be seen to be light upon the scale.
