16.1

अथ परोक्षस्य दीक्षा द्विविधश् च सः मृतो जीवंश् च

Transliteration (IAST)

atha parokṣasya dīkṣā dvividhaś ca saḥ mṛto jīvaṃś ca

— of the one who is absent (out of sight, remote) ; — initiation ; — twofold ; — the dead one ; — the living one

Now, the initiation of the absent disciple; and it is twofold, the dead and the living.
