That (trident), risen from the navel, issuing from the three apertures at its crown, is the triple prong having the forms of Śakti, Vyāpinī, and Samanā within the nāda, ending at the dvādaśānta; and above it are the three pure lotuses belonging to the trans-mental (Unmanā). Upon this universe-pervading framework, once made into a seat, having fashioned the chosen deity as the thing supported, by way of (its being) the governor in a pervading mode: that very offering up of all states of being into the (deity) replete with the uniform innate nature — that alone is worship. The becoming identical with that is meditation. The oscillating in such inner awareness, in (its) true contemplation, is recitation. The making of all into oneself by the very force of the great radiance awakened through the sequence of such awareness — that is the oblation. Having so made the (deity), then, having visualized the retinue as sparks from that same mass of fire, he should worship it likewise.
