1.20

अप्रबुद्धधियस्त्वेते स्वस्थितिस्थगनोद्यताः । पातयन्ति दुरुत्तारे घोरे संसारवर्त्मनि ॥२०॥

aprabuddha-dhiyas tv ete sva-sthiti-sthaganodyatāḥ | pātayanti duruttāre ghore saṃsāra-vartmani ||

anuṣṭubh

— those whose intellect is unawakened ; — but, however ; — these (guṇa-spandas — when they bind) ; — intent on concealing one's true state ; — they cast down ; — difficult to cross ; — terrible ; — in the path of saṃsāra

But for the unawakened, these same (powers), bent on concealing one's true state, hurl them down into the terrible, hardly-crossable path of saṃsāra.
