अभिव्यक्तेर्विनाशित्वे तथाप्यानन्त्यमापतेत् ॥५७॥
abhivyaktervināśitve tathāpyānantyamāpatet
— of the manifestation ; — if (it be held to) perish ; — even so ; — infinite regress ; — would befall

(And if you say) the manifestation perishes — even so, infinite regress would befall (you, for its perishing would itself need a further manifestation, and so on).
