अनाश्रितः कर्मफलं कार्यं कर्म करोति यः । स संन्यासी च योगी च न निरग्निर्न चाक्रियः ॥ ६-१ ॥
anāśritaḥ karmaphalaṃ kāryaṃ karma karoti yaḥ | sa saṃnyāsī ca yogī ca na niragnirna cākriyaḥ || 6-1 ||
— not depending on the fruit of action ; — who performs the work that ought to be done ; — he is both renouncer and yogin ; — not he who is without sacred fire, nor he without action

He who performs the work that ought to be done without depending on its fruit — he is both renouncer and yogin, not he who abstains from the sacred fire, nor he who abstains from action.
