यया स्वप्नं भयं शोकं विषादं मोहमेव च ।
न विमुञ्चति दुर्मेधा धृतिः सा तामसी मता ॥
१८-३५ ॥
yayā svapnaṃ bhayaṃ śokaṃ viṣādaṃ mohameva ca |
na vimuñcati durmedhā dhṛtiḥ sā tāmasī matā ||
18-35 ||
The firmness by which the dull-witted does not let go of sleep, fear, grief, despondency, and delusion — that, O Pārtha, is held to be tāmasic.
