citprādhānye śivatattvam ānandaprādhānye śaktitattvam icchāprādhānye sadāśivatattvam icchāyā hi jñānakriyayoḥ sāmyarūpābhyupagamātmakatvāt jñānaśaktiprādhānye īśvaratattvam kriyāśaktiprādhānye vidyātattvam iti

— when consciousness (cit) predominates ; — when bliss (ānanda) predominates ; — when will (icchā) predominates ; — because it consists in the acceptance of a balanced condition (of knowledge and action) ; — when the power of knowledge predominates ; — when the power of action predominates ; — the Knowledge-principle (= śuddhavidyā)

When consciousness predominates, there is the Śiva-principle; when bliss predominates, the Śakti-principle; when will predominates, the Sadāśiva-principle — for will consists in accepting a balanced condition of knowledge and action; when the power of knowledge predominates, the Īśvara-principle; and when the power of action predominates, the Knowledge-principle (śuddhavidyā).
