13.1

Transliteration (IAST)

atha prasannahṛdayo yāgasthānaṃ yāyāt tac ca yatraiva hṛdayaṃ prasādayuktaṃ parameśvarasamāveśayogyaṃ bhavati tad eva na tu asya anyal lakṣaṇam uktāv api dhyeyatādātmyam eva kāraṇam tad api bhāvaprasādād eva iti nānyat sthānam

— with serene heart ; — the place of worship (the ritual site) ; — should go ; — endowed with serenity (grace) ; — fit for absorption into the Supreme Lord ; — defining mark ; — identity with the object of meditation ; — the cause ; — from the serenity of one's disposition ; — there is no other place

Now, with serene heart he should go to the place of worship; and that is precisely wherever the heart, endowed with serenity, becomes fit for absorption into the Supreme Lord — that alone, and there is no other defining mark of it. Even where (a place) is prescribed, identity with the object of meditation is the (real) cause; and that too arises only from the serenity of one's disposition. Hence there is no other place.
