स्वरूपबुद्ध्या यद्वेद्यं तदेव लक्षणैः शिवे । लक्षणैराप्तुमिच्छूनां विहितं तत्र साधनम् ॥१०॥
svarūpabuddhyā yadvedyaṃ tadeva lakṣaṇaiḥ śive | lakṣaṇairāptumicchūnāṃ vihitaṃ tatra sādhanam ||10||
— by intuition of its essential nature ; — what is to be known ; — that very thing ; — by its marks ; — O Śivā ; — of those who wish to attain it by its marks ; — is prescribed ; — therein ; — the means

What is to be known by intuition of its essential nature is the same as what is known by its marks, O Śivā; for those who wish to attain it through its marks, a means is prescribed therein.
