1.56

समः शत्रौ च मित्रे च समो मानावमानयोः । ब्रह्मणः परिपूर्णत्वादिति ज्ञात्वा सुखी भवेत् ॥५६॥

samaḥ śatrau ca mitre ca samo mānāvamānayoḥ | brahmaṇaḥ paripūrṇatvād iti jñātvā sukhī bhavet

anuṣṭubh

— equal ; — to enemy and to friend ; — equal in honor and dishonor ; — owing to the completeness of brahman ; — having known thus ; — one becomes happy

The same toward enemy and friend, the same in honor and dishonor — knowing this from the perfect fullness of Brahman, one becomes happy.
