मेध्यामेध्याविचाराणां न शुद्धिः श्रौतकर्मणा ।
न संहिताद्यैः स्मृतिभिरिष्टसिद्धिर्नृणां भवेत् ॥६॥
medhyāmedhyāvicārāṇāṃ na śuddhiḥ śrautakarmaṇā |
na saṃhitādyaiḥ smṛtibhiriṣṭasiddhirnṛṇāṃ bhavet ||6||
— of those who make no distinction between pure and impure; — not; — purification; — by Vedic (śruti-based) ritual; — not; — by the Saṃhitās and the rest; — by the Smṛtis; — attainment of the desired end; — for human beings; — could come about
For those who make no distinction between the pure and the impure, there is no purification by Vedic ritual; nor by the Saṃhitās and the rest, nor by the Smṛtis, could the desired end be attained by human beings.
