Now, the differentiation as measured by its being established in the breath. Here, for one grasping the blue, the breath arises consisting of sixteen instants, extending up to absorption into the object. Of these, the first instant is of a single undivided form; the second is of the form of the surging-forth of the perceiver; the last is non-different from and identical with the object-to-be-grasped; the next-to-last is of the form of the perceiver becoming manifest. As for the twelve instants in the middle: of these, the first six are non-conceptual by nature and conceal by conceptual construction; and this sixfoldness is, in its own form, a single instant. In the concealing conceptual construction there is a fivefold character: the wish-to-unfold, the state-of-unfolding — and this latter, since it has the form of a manifest action, consists of two instants, because the throb is not of the nature of a single moment — the state-of-having-unfolded, and the agency-of-its-own-effect. Thus, from the fivefoldness of the concealing conceptual construction and from its own form, there are six non-conceptual moments. Then again: the perishing of the non-conceptual, the dissolution of the conceptual, the wish-to-unfold, the state-of-unfolding which consists of two instants, and the state-of-having-unfolded — thus there are six instants.
