8.13

Transliteration (IAST)

evaṃ kalpite 'smin kāryatve śāstreṣu tattvānāṃ kāryakāraṇabhāvaṃ prati yat bahuprakāratvaṃ tad api saṅgataṃ gomayāt kīṭāt yogīcchāto mantrād auṣadhāt vṛścikodayavat

— in this constructed (conventional) ; — status of being an effect ; — in the scriptures ; — the multiplicity of modes ; — coherent, well-founded ; — a worm from cow-dung ; — like the arising of a scorpion (from cow-dung)

Thus, when this status of being an effect is taken as constructed, the multiplicity of modes that the scriptures present regarding the causal relation of the principles is also coherent — as a worm from cow-dung, from a yogin's will, from a mantra, from a herb, like the arising of a scorpion.
