6.57

एवं यथा प्राणे कालोदयः तथा अपाने ऽपि हृदयात् मूलपीठपर्यन्तम्

Transliteration (IAST)

evaṃ yathā prāṇe kālodayaḥ tathā apāne 'pi hṛdayāt mūlapīṭhaparyantam

— in the prāṇa (exhaled breath) ; — the arising of Time ; — in the apāna (inhaled breath) ; — from the heart ; — up to the root-seat (the perineum)

Thus, just as there is the arising of Time in the prāṇa, so too in the apāna — from the heart down to the root-seat.
