प्रत्यङ्गुलं षष्टिः तिथय इति क्रमेण सङ्क्रान्तौ वर्षम् इत्य् अनेन क्रमेण प्रवेशनिर्गमयोः द्वादशाब्दोदयः प्रत्यङ्गुलं तिथीनां शतत्रयं सपञ्चांशे ऽङ्गुले वर्षं यत्र प्राक् चषकम् उक्तम् इति गणनया सङ्क्रान्तौ पञ्च वर्षाणि इति अनया परिपाट्या एकस्मिन् प्राणनिर्गमप्रवेशकाले षष्ट्यब्दोदयः अत्र एकविंशतिसहस्राणि षट् शतानि इति तिथीनां सङ्ख्या

pratyaṅgulaṃ ṣaṣṭiḥ tithaya iti krameṇa saṅkrāntau varṣam ity anena krameṇa praveśanirgamayoḥ dvādaśābdodayaḥ pratyaṅgulaṃ tithīnāṃ śatatrayaṃ sapañcāṃśe 'ṅgule varṣaṃ yatra prāk caṣakam uktam iti gaṇanayā saṅkrāntau pañca varṣāṇi iti anayā paripāṭyā ekasmin prāṇanirgamapraveśakāle ṣaṣṭyabdodayaḥ atra ekaviṃśatisahasrāṇi ṣaṭ śatāni iti tithīnāṃ saṅkhyā

— per finger-breadth ; — sixty lunar days ; — at the zodiacal passage ; — the arising of twelve years ; — three hundred lunar days ; — in a finger-breadth plus a fifth ; — the caṣaka ; — by this computation ; — five years ; — the arising of sixty years ; — twenty-one thousand six hundred ; — the number of lunar days

Sixty lunar days per finger-breadth — so at each zodiacal passage there is a year. By this reckoning, in the inhalation and exhalation together there is the arising of twelve years. Three hundred lunar days per finger-breadth: a year occurs in a finger-breadth plus a fifth, since the caṣaka was specified earlier; by this computation there are five years at each passage. By this method, in a single time of the breath going out and coming in, there is the arising of sixty years. Here the number of lunar days is twenty-one thousand six hundred.
