22.6

तत्र च उत्तर उत्तर उत्कृष्टः पूर्वः पूर्वस् तद्रुच्यर्थम्

Transliteration (IAST)

tatra ca uttara uttara utkṛṣṭaḥ pūrvaḥ pūrvas tadrucyartham

— each successive one ; — is the more excellent ; — each preceding one ; — for the sake of a taste (predilection) for the next

And among them, each successive one is the more excellent; each preceding one (is taught) for the sake of cultivating a relish for the next.
