20.33

तिथेर् एव विशेषलाभात् अनुयागकालानुवृत्तिस् तु पर्वदिने मुख्या अनुयागप्राधान्यात् पर्वयागानाम् अनुयागो मूर्तियागः चक्रयागः इति पर्यायाः

Transliteration (IAST)

tither eva viśeṣalābhāt anuyāgakālānuvṛttis tu parvadine mukhyā anuyāgaprādhānyāt parvayāgānām anuyāgo mūrtiyāgaḥ cakrayāgaḥ iti paryāyāḥ

— from the lunar day alone ; — because the distinguishing feature is obtained ; — the continuance of the time of the subsidiary rite (anuyāga) ; — but ; — on the day of the sacred festival ; — primary ; — because of the predominance of the subsidiary rite ; — of the festival rites ; — anuyāga, mūrtiyāga (embodied rite), cakrayāga (rite of the circle) ; — are synonyms

Since the distinguishing feature is obtained from the lunar day alone, the continuance of the time of the subsidiary rite is, however, primary on the festival day; because of the predominance of the subsidiary rite among the festival rites, anuyāga, mūrtiyāga (the embodied rite), and cakrayāga (the rite of the circle) are synonyms.
