The Essence of the Tantra13.8

13.8

अत एव हि भ्रष्टविधिर् अपि मन्त्र एतन्न्यासात् पूर्णो भवति साञ्जनो ऽपि गारुडवैष्णवादिर् निरञ्जनताम् एत्य मोक्षप्रदो भवति

Transliteration (IAST)

ata eva hi bhraṣṭavidhir api mantra etannyāsāt pūrṇo bhavati sāñjano 'pi gāruḍavaiṣṇavādir nirañjanatām etya mokṣaprado bhavati

— whose ritual procedure has lapsed (defective) ; — the mantra ; — by this imposition (of the Mālinī) ; — complete, made whole ; — stained (with worldly defilement) ; — a Gāruḍa, Vaiṣṇava, or similar (mantra) ; — having attained stainlessness ; — bestowing liberation

For this very reason, even a mantra whose ritual procedure has lapsed becomes complete through this imposition; and even a stained (mantra) — a Gāruḍa, a Vaiṣṇava, or the like — having attained stainlessness, becomes a bestower of liberation.
