त्याज्यं दोषवदित्येके कर्म प्राहुर्मनीषिणः । यज्ञदानतपःकर्म न त्याज्यमिति चापरे ॥ १८-३ ॥
tyājyaṃ doṣavadityeke karma prāhurmanīṣiṇaḥ | yajñadānatapaḥkarma na tyājyamiti cāpare || 18-3 ||
— 'to be abandoned, as faulty' — so some ; — thoughtful men declare of action ; — the act of sacrifice, gift, and austerity ; — is not to be abandoned — so say others

Some thoughtful men declare that action is to be abandoned as faulty; others say that the act of sacrifice, gift, and austerity is not to be abandoned.
