श्रीदेव्युवाच । देवदेव महादेव देवतानां गुरोर्गुरो । वक्ता त्वं सर्वशास्त्राणां मन्त्राणां साधनस्य च ॥१॥
śrīdevyuvāca | devadeva mahādeva devatānāṃ gurorguro | vaktā tvaṃ sarvaśāstrāṇāṃ mantrāṇāṃ sādhanasya ca ||1||
— the revered Goddess said ; — O god of gods ; — O Mahādeva ; — of the deities ; — O guru of gurus ; — the proclaimer ; — you ; — of all the scriptures ; — of the mantras ; — of the means/discipline ; — and

The revered Goddess said: O god of gods, Mahādeva, guru of the gurus of the deities, you are the proclaimer of all the scriptures, of the mantras, and of the means.
