1.18

यावस्था भरिताकारा भैरवस्योपलभ्यते । कैरुपायैर्मुखं तस्य परा देवी कथं भवेत् । यथा सम्यगहं वेद्मि तथा मे ब्रूहि भैरव ॥१८॥

yāvasthā bharitākārā bhairavasyopalabhyate | kair upāyair mukhaṃ tasya parā devī kathaṃ bhavet | yathā samyag ahaṃ vedmi tathā me brūhi bhairava

anuṣṭubh (extended)

— which state ; — of a filled-up nature ; — is apprehended in Bhairava ; — by which means? ; — is the door to him ; — the supreme Goddess ; — how does she come to be? ; — so that I rightly may know ; — thus tell me, O Bhairava

That state of Bhairava that is experienced as full plenitude — by what means is it reached? How does the Supreme Goddess become its very face? Tell me, Bhairava, so that I may know it rightly.
