13.41

अथ यदा दीक्षां चिकीर्षेत् तदाधिवासनार्थं भूमिपरिग्रहं गणेशार्चनं कुम्भकलशयोः पूजां स्थण्डिलार्चनं हवनं च कुर्यात्

Transliteration (IAST)

atha yadā dīkṣāṃ cikīrṣet tadādhivāsanārthaṃ bhūmiparigrahaṃ gaṇeśārcanaṃ kumbhakalaśayoḥ pūjāṃ sthaṇḍilārcanaṃ havanaṃ ca kuryāt

— when he wishes to perform an initiation ; — for the sake of the preliminary consecration (adhivāsana) ; — the taking-possession of the ground ; — the worship of Gaṇeśa ; — the worship of the (main) pot and the (subsidiary) jar ; — the worship of the altar-mound ; — the fire-oblation

Now, when he wishes to perform an initiation, then for the preliminary consecration he should carry out the taking-possession of the ground, the worship of Gaṇeśa, the worship of the pot and the jar, the worship of the altar-mound, and the fire-oblation.
