ततो नेत्रे समुन्मील्य जप्त्वा मूलं स्वशक्तितः । तज्जपं ब्रह्मसात् कृत्वा स्तोत्रञ्च कवचं पठेत् ॥५७॥
tato netre samunmīlya japtvā mūlaṃ svaśaktitaḥ | tajjapaṃ brahmasāt kṛtvā stotrañca kavacaṃ paṭhet ||57||
— then ; — the eyes ; — having opened ; — having recited ; — the root-mantra ; — according to his ability ; — that recitation ; — having dedicated to Brahman ; — and the hymn ; — the protective formula (kavaca) ; — should recite

Then, opening his eyes, having recited the root-mantra according to his ability and dedicated that recitation to Brahman, he should recite the hymn and the kavaca.
