1.79

झगितीच्छां समुत्पन्नामवलोक्य शमं नयेत् । यत एव समुद्भूता ततस्तत्रैव लीयते ॥७९॥

jhagitīcchāṃ samutpannām avalokya śamaṃ nayet | yata eva samudbhūtā tatas tatraiva līyate

anuṣṭubh

— suddenly ; — a desire arisen ; — having observed ; — one should lead it to quiescence ; — from where alone it arose ; — there it dissolves

Observing a desire that has just sprung up, lead it to rest. From where it has arisen, there it dissolves.
