— of the guru ; — in the elucidation of scripture ; — function, operation, role ; — in the rise of the appropriate conceptual construct that becomes the ground for generating an unwavering, homogeneous continuum of it ; — a continuum of conceptual construction of such a kind ; — sound reasoning (sat-tarka) ; — contemplative cultivation, realizing meditation ; — because of [its] non-vividness ; — by bringing about vividness ; — is made to be realized/vividly present

Rather, the guru's role lies in elucidating scripture, and scripture's role lies in producing the rise of the appropriate conceptual construct that grounds the generation of an unwavering, homogeneous continuum of it. A continuum of conceptual construction of just this kind has been called "sound reasoning," and that very thing is termed bhāvanā (contemplative cultivation), since by it even what is already real, being non-vivid, is brought to vivid presence as though it were not yet real.
